I've just returned from a 4 day stay at this hotel and found it to be absolutely lovely, the rooms are modern and decorated with teak wood, there's plenty of hanging/storage space, in room safe, TV mini bar, a great shower / bath and quiet efficient air con.. The staff were extremely helpful and smiled the whole day through. My room was spotlessly clean, with lovely crisp bed linen and towels, changed daily. The gardens around the pool are very pretty. There were alot of mosquitos about but the hotel staff made a huge effort to combat this leaving burners around and also spraying the rooms at night.
The buffet breakfast catered for all nationalities, the hotel was very popular with Korean & Japanese guests during my stay. There are a few tuk tuk drivers immediately outside the hotel and I would recommend that you use these for getting around, it's cheap (a driver for the day is about $5 USD.) and the drivers are very friendly although resist their offers to take you'shopping' as they will deposit you at the 'tourist' shops. Unfortunately shop staff, follow any potential clients around the shop very closely muttering about discounts etc which I found very annoying when I just wanted to browse. I would recommend a trip to the night market, which is an interesting and relaxed place to be, there's a great bar at the rear. Also if you get chance visit Chong Khnea's floating village which is a real eye opener but the kids are a delight and will light up your day with their smiles. Go with a handful of sweets if you can. Siem Reap is a fascinating place, I wish I'd stayed longer.

5 reasons why Apsara's honeymoon package is THE only choice: -
1. You will feel like you are living the honeymoon dream - from the ride to the welcome party, to the romantically decorated honeymoon suite to the royalty treatment throughout your stay.
2. The Khmer styled suite will soothe you and puts you in the mood
3. The personalised service
4. The calm cosy location
5. The romantic dinner is unforgettable.
The staff is also trustworthy. I left my credit cards accidentally in the safe and the GM kindly sent his driver all the way to Phnom Penh where i stayed after (5 hours drive away) to send me my cards back. How amazing!

To all those honeymooners out there traveling to Cambodia and looking for romance, my husband and I fully recommend the Apsara Angkor Hotel! When we first arrived, we were picked up in style at the airport by the hotel's classic Citroen car. The hotel staff was there waiting for us with a complimentary drink. We stayed in the brand new Rama Suite, which had been newly built in the style of old Cambodian homes. The room was enormous and beautiful, made completely of carved wood (smelled amazing). It had a jacuzzi tub, a hug comfy bed covered in rose petals and orchids, a flat screen TV, a bar, and a huge deck where the lovely staff greeted us each morning with a delicious breakfast. We also got a free Cambodian couples massage (which was amazing), a romantic dinner by candlelight in the gazebo, and a tour of the city. The hotel also helped us acquire a tour guide and driver to take us around the temples of Angkor Wat. Perhaps the most outstanding part of the hotel is the staff, who are courteous, attentive, and seem to know what you want before you know you want it. We give the Apsara Angkor Hotel our highest rating. Go for the Honeymoon Package. We really enjoyed it and you get great value for your money!

A great hotel to stay whilst touring the Angkor temples. The air conditioned rooms were very comfortable and the service excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - like Thailand + a bit.
The meals at the hotel were very good with a wide choice and well presented - they cater for hotel guests from many countries. Breakfasts ranged from fish porridge (looked but didn't try it) to standard US/UK fare.
Would highly recommend this hotel.
The person who rated this as terrible must be confusing it with somewhere else. This is a very acceptable 4 star hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for three days during December 06. I really don't know where the previous reviewer stayed but it was defiantly not here (think they may have stayed at the budget guesthouse which uses the same name). Anyway please do not be put off staying here due to this mistake as we had a wonderful time. The hotel was lovely. The room was large and very clean with good air conditioning. The bathroom was very modern and very clean and the hotel provided nice bath products. We had clean fresh towels and bed linen everyday. The bed was extremely comfortable. We ate the buffet breakfast within the hotel which had lots of variety and was very nice. The hotel bar is decorated in traditional Khmer style and the service was good. We used the hotel pool once and found the hotel pool and grounds very attractive. The hotel has spa facilities but unfortunatly we did not get time to use these. The hotel is close to Seim Reap airport. It would not be possible to walk quickly into the town or to Angkor to see all the amazing sites; however the hotel can arranged a variety of different means of transport very cheaply for guests. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful – nothing was too much trouble. I have been lucky to stay in many nice hotels around the world and for a hotel in a third world country the Aspara Angkor Hotel is very good and really does match other four star hotels I have stayed in around the world. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if I ever return to Siem reap this is where I will be staying.
